Ok my change warriors, today, we are diving into a crucial topic that affects countless individuals: it’s called…dependent personality disorder. It's time to shed light on this challenge and explore ways to break free from its grasp. So, grab a cup of inspiration, because we're about to embark on a journey of empowerment and growth!
First, we need to understand what this dependent personality disorder is.
Dependent personality disorder (DPD) is a type of anxious personality disorder. People with DPD often feel helpless, submissive and incapable of taking care of themselves. They may have trouble making simple decisions.
Now in my book, I don’t believe in disorders. I believe these labels are just challenges and opportunities for growth even though it can feel like a never-ending struggle, where the fear of independence and the need for constant reassurance can hold us back from living fulfilling lives. In this episode we will explore this challenging condition and discuss practical tips to break free from its grip.
It is important to seek professional help to understand the underlying causes of dependent personality disorder and work towards overcoming it. Therapy sessions can provide a safe space to explore our fears and insecurities and develop healthier coping mechanisms. Today I am going to give you some things to practice stopping this constant need for approval and reassurance from others.
