Welcome back my friends to another episode of Motivational Moments with Maria.  I am your host loving and crazy coach Maria and I am back!  I am back with a vengeance.  After two and a half years of not missing a single weekly podcast release, I took two weeks off.  Now some of you asked me why I did this? Some of you asked me this question…why didn’t you just re-use or re-purpose some your old ones and release them.  Well, first I am one that writes and records when the right moment hits. It may be 4am in the morning or 4pm at in the evening.   Something triggers me and I start typing away. It may be a book I am reading or a conversation I am having with someone and voila I am ready to sit down and write.  Sometimes it makes sense and sometimes it only makes sense to me and sometimes a situation or area in our life can leave us feeling uncertain or trapped.

Have you ever felt that way? Was I feeling trapped into a weekly podcast?

So let me ask you this.  Have you ever felt guilty about stepping away from something that you were committed to doing and loved doing?   Let me tell you, I felt so guilty and felt like a failure, but I could not bring myself to do it.  I told myself I was LAZY, LAZY, LAZY.  What I realized is I needed to hit the re-set button.

So, I took a long walk on the beach last Sunday morning and thought it through with me, myself and I.  It was a great conversation.   Try it sometime.  People on the beach saw me talking to myself and avoided walking towards me.  Psst, look at that crazy lady talking to herself on the beach, let’s walk around her so we don’t have to engage.  I know you have already pictured that in your mind.

What I realized is this.  Sometimes we do need to step away from everything and everyone. We need alone time.   Alone time allows your mind to wander to dark places and enlightened places.  The what if questions show up.

What if you stopped doing this podcast, what if you just throw in the towel and retire, what if you just fade away into one of the beautiful Hawaiian sunsets.  What if, what if.

And then as a wave came crashing over me, it hit me.  I had fallen into comfortableness.  You know that place you are in right now.  You have worked hard over the years to build a good life; things are going well, you have a wonderful family and great friends, and you are living the life you chose to build. But like all good things in our life, comfortable may cause a deep sense of restlessness within us.  I am living a comfortable life and guess what has set in? Yes, my friends, complacency.  Complacency has set it.  Holy crap.  I am complacent.  I admit it.
